Tile Sets and Tiles

Tile Sets are source images that can be sliced into reusable Tiles.

Tile Sets live at the Project level, so every Document in the Project can use them. Create as many Tile Sets as you need for the way your art is organized.

Tile Sets

Upload a Tile Set image by dragging a file from your computer into the Tile Set drop area.

After the image is uploaded, draw slice outlines to define individual Tiles. Each Tile can then be selected and used when drawing Rectangles.

Tiles

Tiles are the pieces of a Tile Set that Spritedeck can place, repeat, or stretch across Rectangles. Give important Tiles useful names so they are easier to find in the palette and easier to recognize in exported data.

Pattern Types

Each Tile has a Pattern field that controls how its graphic fills a Rectangle.

Stamp repeats the Tile from left to right and top to bottom.

Nine Slice preserves the corners, tiles the edges, and fills the center with the middle slice.

Horizontal Three uses left and right edge slices, then fills the middle with the center slice.

Vertical Three uses top and bottom edge slices, then fills the middle with the center slice.
