COOKIE POLICY

Last updated September 24, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Level Eddie Software LLC ("Company," "we," "us," and "our"), which operates Spritedeck, uses cookies and similar browser technologies when you visit https://spritedeck.com or use the Spritedeck application (collectively, the "Services"). It should be read together with our Privacy Notice.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include browser storage mechanisms, such as local storage and IndexedDB, which allow a website or application to store information in your browser.

Cookies set by Spritedeck are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by service providers on our behalf are sometimes called third-party cookies. Our service providers may use cookies or similar technologies as necessary to provide authentication, hosting, security, storage, and other essential functionality.

Why do we use these technologies?

We use cookies and similar browser technologies to operate the Services and provide embedded video content as described below. These technologies support:

  • account authentication and session management;
  • security and fraud or abuse prevention;
  • user preferences and editor state;
  • browser-local project drafts, images, and previews;
  • embedded video content; and
  • other essential website and application functions.

Spritedeck does not use cookies for its own advertising or use cookies to track you across unrelated websites for targeted advertising. Third-party embedded content providers, including YouTube, may display non-personalized advertisements within their content.

Cookies used by Spritedeck

The cookies used through the Services may vary depending on the features you use and changes made by our service providers. A cookie currently associated with the Services is described below:

Name Provider Purpose Duration
__vdpl Vercel Pins requests to the same application deployment during an active session to prevent version mismatches Session

The __vdpl cookie supports Vercel Skew Protection. Firebase Authentication may also use browser storage to maintain your authentication session and protect account access. You can learn more from Firebase's privacy and security documentation.

YouTube Embedded Videos

Our website uses embedded videos provided by YouTube, a service operated by Google LLC.

When you view or interact with these videos, YouTube may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your device and your interactions with the video.

YouTube's privacy-enhanced embedded player may display non-personalized advertisements.

For more information about how Google uses cookies and processes your information, please review Google's Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Browser storage

Important: browser-local projects are stored only in browser storage on the browser and device where you create them. They are not synced to your other browsers or devices, uploaded to Spritedeck, or backed up by Spritedeck. A browser-local project may include the project draft, project images, and preview data stored in IndexedDB.

Private-browsing restrictions or ending a private-browsing session, clearing cookies or site data, resetting or reinstalling your browser, or losing or replacing your device may permanently erase a browser-local project. Spritedeck cannot recover browser-local work after the browser removes it. Save the project to your Spritedeck account before clearing browser data or moving to another browser or device if you want to preserve it.

When you sign in or create an account and choose to save a browser-local project to that account, Spritedeck uploads the project, its locally stored images, and its preview data to create an account-backed project. After that process succeeds, Spritedeck discards the browser-local draft, images, and previews from IndexedDB. The account-backed project is then subject to Spritedeck's account storage and retention practices.

Spritedeck also uses browser storage to remember interface preferences and editor state, such as panel sizes, collapsed sections, grid settings, and preview settings. Clearing this storage may sign you out or reset saved preferences. It will not delete projects that have already been successfully saved to your Spritedeck account.

How can I control cookies and browser storage?

You can set your browser to remove or reject cookies and clear browser storage or site data. Because Spritedeck currently uses these technologies for essential functions, blocking them may prevent you from signing in, may cause some features or saved preferences not to work correctly, and may prevent browser-local projects from being saved or restored. Clearing Spritedeck site data will permanently delete browser-local projects stored in that browser, but it will not delete projects already saved to your Spritedeck account.

For information about managing cookies in common browsers, see:

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the technologies we use or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The date at the top indicates when it was last updated.
